I'm just wondering how he got them apart without destroying the pieces mating edges. I mean...did'nt Altec glue these things together with screws?

I just bid. I figure shipping from Quebec to Ontario won't be too bad, especially if flat. I recently bid on some 828's in the south-they went for 500-plus, sans drivers natch. If I win I will try and rebuild them; I have the power, I have the technology...apologies to Oscar Goldman.

I like the pooch too, wonder if he comes with...?
Good Luck!

If I win maybe I'll ask if I can pick them up, though it is about 300 miles to Quebec City, but then again I'm taking a week off work the end of the month with no real plans.

I noticed someone asked a shipping Q, and the reply indicated he hadn't yet built the shipping boxes. For $20 packing, I'll bet he means cardboard boxes.

Just curious- Altec used pretty much the same curve on most of their cabs...right?

There are 3 curves. The A7, and the 816/817 which is pretty close,it is the same as the old home stereo corner cabinet from the '50's.
The third is the 210/211. A short version of the 210 curve ws used on the 815.

BTW they ended up going for 616 UsDollars!
Admittedly I bid up to 400, particularly as they looked like early A7 cabs.
